Industrial IoT/OT Field Engineer – Santiago, Dominican Republic

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Industrial IoT/OT Field Engineer to lead on‑site deployment and integration at our client’s facility in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The role bridges operational technology and enterprise IT, acting as the primary technical contact during Phase‑1 execution.

Key responsibilities

• Commission and troubleshoot industrial protocol networks (Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet/IP, RS‑485, Industrial Ethernet) across HVAC, chillers, generator and compressor controllers.
• Serve as the single technical lead on‑site, coordinating with OEM engineers, internal IT admins and plant maintenance teams.
• Configure IT/OT network segmentation, static IPs, VLANs, DNS/NTP and secure remote access (VPN/MFA) in line with client policies.
• Implement OT cybersecurity measures, including zero‑trust access and secure data transmission.
• Provide clear technical updates to plant technicians, IT staff and executive leadership.
• Train and mentor client maintenance and IT personnel to ensure long‑term operational self‑sufficiency.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on field experience with industrial communications and multi‑OEM controller integration.
• Strong knowledge of IT/OT network architectures and OT security practices.
• Ability to solve ambiguous technical issues independently.
• Fluent Spanish and professional working proficiency in English.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Santiago, Dominican Republic, with full on‑site availability.
