Optical Transmission Engineer – Entry Level

About the role

Huawei Technologies is seeking a motivated Optical Transmission Engineer to join its Carrier Network team in Chile. This entry‑level position is designed for recent graduates who want to build a career in optical transmission and telecommunications networks.

Key responsibilities

• Support deployment, configuration, and integration of DWDM/OTN optical transmission equipment.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, and service activation of optical network solutions.
• Assist engineers in troubleshooting technical issues during project deployment.
• Perform optical network measurements and basic performance validation.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project records.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Graduated in 2025‑2026 or close to graduation.
• Little or no professional experience; internship experience is a plus.
• Basic academic knowledge of telecommunications, optical networks, networking or transmission technologies.
• Strong analytical mindset, willingness to learn and work in a team.
• Good communication, problem‑solving skills and English proficiency.
• Availability to work onsite and support field activities.
