Quality Assurance Specialist – Distribution Center

About the role

The Quality Assurance Specialist monitors the overall Quality System status of a UPS distribution center, ensuring compliance with drug, medical device, and local regulations. The role supports a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Train all staff on their job functions, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Write, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct regular facility inspections, recordkeeping reviews, and report findings.
• Coordinate corrective and preventive actions, and assist with change control requests.
• Communicate with clients during external audits and liaise with Health Canada officials for regulatory audits.
• Provide QA support to customers/clients, answering questions and concerns.
• Monitor departmental processes to ensure regulatory compliance and effective operation.
• Investigate discrepancies, advise stakeholders, and develop proactive strategies.
• Complete Non‑Conformance Reports (NCR) and support continuous improvement of Quality Systems.
• Perform QPIC designation duties as required.

Required profile

• Background in pharmaceutical or medical‑device environments.
• Experience with GMP, regulatory audits, and quality system maintenance.
• Ability to train staff, write SOPs, and manage corrective actions.
• Strong investigative and problem‑solving skills.
