Security Officer (LW)

About the role

The Security Officer will be based at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and may be required to work across any NHS Fife site. Working a 24‑hour shift pattern, you will help safeguard staff, patients and visitors while protecting NHS Estates assets.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular patrols of hospital and estate areas.
• Monitor and operate security technology such as CCTV and alarm systems.
• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms and emergencies.
• Provide a visible security presence to deter anti‑social behaviour.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents and patrol activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar security environment.
• Strong communication and customer care abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Standard Grade (or equivalent) education.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Willingness to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

• Use of security technology (e.g., CCTV, alarm systems).
