Senior Back-End Software Engineer – Payments Platform

About the role

XeXe is rebuilding the core platform for cross‑border payments. As a Senior Back‑End Engineer you will own critical money‑movement services, shape API design, data models, and ensure production reliability while leveraging AI‑assisted coding tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own backend services that handle multi‑currency balances, onboarding, KYC/KYB, payment initiation, FX, settlement and related workflows.
• Lead cross‑functional delivery with product, compliance and operations from problem definition through launch.
• Build and maintain partner integration and settlement infrastructure required by your domain.
• Own production health: reliability, observability, on‑call rotation and incident response.
• Conduct design reviews, set technical direction, and mentor mid‑level engineers.
• Use agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) daily and drive modernization of legacy services.

Required profile

• 6‑10+ years of experience building production backend services end‑to‑end.
• Strong proficiency in C#/.NET (or comparable OOP languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go).
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services (SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, Lambda) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated system design and architecture expertise in micro‑services and event‑driven patterns.
• Background in payments, foreign‑exchange or other regulated industries.
• Proven technical leadership: mentoring, design reviews, architecture decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
