Senior Back Office Architect

About the role

Xe is a cross‑border payments platform serving SMEs and consumers across multiple markets. We are rebuilding the core back‑office layer that moves money, and we need a Senior Architect to own the end‑to‑end design, implementation, and reliability of this critical system.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture for the ledger, balances data model, settlement, reconciliation, and treasury operations.
• Lead prototyping of patterns, write production code for the most complex parts, and conduct architecture reviews across squads.
• Define and enforce standards for API design, observability, security, and integration patterns.
• Drive cross‑cutting architecture decisions and mentor mid‑level architects and team leads.
• Champion the adoption of AI‑assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required profile

• 7–10+ years of experience building production software systems end‑to‑end.
• At least 3 years focused on system design, platform engineering, or technical leadership.
• Proven track record designing architecture across multiple teams and mentoring other architects.
• Strong backend expertise in C#/.NET with hands‑on coding as a daily activity.
• Solid computer‑science fundamentals and object‑oriented design knowledge.
