Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are expanding our personal finance management platform to Web and Android, and need a senior backend engineer to design and build the APIs and services that power the experience across all devices. This hybrid role is based in Santiago, Chile, and you will work closely with product and design teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performance backend solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for iOS, macOS, Android, and Web applications.
• Participate in architecture and infrastructure discussions, recommending improvements for scalability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with product and client teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices and high‑quality standards.
• Improve developer experience, system reliability, and mentor junior engineers as needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building backend services.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript (TypeScript a plus).
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform and API design for mobile and web.
• Fluent English for meetings and internal communication.
• Team player able to manage time independently and based in Santiago, Chile.
