Senior Frontend Engineer – Consumer Products

About the role

We are looking for a world‑class Senior Frontend Engineer to join our product‑focused Consumer team at Kraken. You will design, develop and maintain high‑quality consumer‑facing features across web (React) and mobile (React Native), owning the full experience from concept to production monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain consumer‑facing features on web (React) and mobile (React Native) platforms.
• Own the full product lifecycle—from discovery and technical design through release, monitoring, experimentation, and iteration.
• Drive A/B testing and experimentation strategies, formulate hypotheses, design experiments, analyse results and iterate based on data.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Mobile engineers to create coherent experiences across Kraken’s consumer surfaces.
• Make opinionated technical decisions on frameworks and architecture (e.g., TanStack Router vs. Next.js App Router).
• Set standards for high‑quality code, ensuring functional correctness, accessibility, performance, and testability.
• Mentor engineers of various seniority levels and foster a culture of craft and continuous improvement.
• Lead complex cross‑platform initiatives, aligning web and mobile implementations.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software development experience focused on consumer‑facing web or mobile products.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript and the React ecosystem, with strong opinions on state management, data fetching, and component architecture.
• Production experience with React Native, including App Store and Google Play release pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with Next.js, especially App Router and React Server Components.
• Experience building and analysing A/B tests and feature‑flag frameworks (e.g., LaunchDarkly, Optimizely).
• Familiarity with real‑time UI technologies such as WebSockets or Server‑Sent Events.
• Strong testing culture using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress.
• Experience in fintech, crypto, payments, or other high‑trust consumer domains.
