Senior Lawyer

About the role

ContourGlobal, a global independent power producer, is seeking a Senior Lawyer to join its legal team in Santiago, Chile. Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel for South America, you will provide high‑quality legal advice with a strong focus on transactional matters across the renewable energy portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support M&A transactions, including due diligence, drafting and negotiating NDAs, LOIs, MOUs, share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, and related documents.
• Prepare and negotiate acquisition financing documentation when required.
• Support corporate governance of local subsidiaries: draft corporate resolutions, powers of attorney, public deeds, oversee incorporations, capital increases, and maintain corporate books in compliance with Chilean law.
• Draft, review, and negotiate EPC, turnkey, O&M, land‑lease, and equipment supply contracts with domestic and international counterparties.
• Handle complex energy contracts such as power purchase agreements (PPAs) and hedging agreements.
• Provide legal support for financing transactions, reviewing related documentation.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in corporate, M&A, and energy‑related transactions.
• Proven ability to manage complex negotiations and draft a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Strong knowledge of Chilean corporate and commercial law.
• Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency required for local matters.
