Service Technician – Mechanical Engineer (UPS & Power Systems)

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will act as a Service Technician responsible for startups, maintenance, and emergency repairs of Vertiv UPS, battery, power distribution, and site monitoring equipment. The role involves building strong relationships with customers, sales teams, and distributors while ensuring reliable service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly and professionally to all assigned service calls.
• Perform work safely, following company safety policies and relevant codes of practice.
• Manage spare parts using established procedures and maintain a minimum 90% planned maintenance completion rate.
• Coordinate scheduling and planning with Call Control and keep them informed of job status.
• Maintain accurate customer records and follow ISO 9001:2000 processes.
• Keep company vehicle, tooling, and equipment clean and well‑maintained.
• Submit daily paperwork accurately and debrief jobs on‑site when possible.
• Be available for weekend and night shifts as required.
• Report sales or service leads through the proper channels.

Required profile

• HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in a technical service or test environment for AC power equipment.
• Previous field service experience with strong customer service orientation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Self‑starter with good planning and time‑management abilities.
• Clean, valid driving licence.
