Staff Software Engineer, AI Investigation & Triage

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the AI‑powered investigation and triage layer that sits atop our alert engine. You will define how large language model (LLM) reasoning and graph context are combined to group alerts, generate incident narratives and assist SOC/NOC analysts, ensuring the architecture scales across alerting, graph/topology and analyst‑facing components.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive architecture decisions for alert correlation, LLM reasoning and graph context across the investigation pipeline.
• Design the incident grouping logic, confidence scoring, priority tiering and AI‑generated narratives that reduce mean time to triage.
• Set technical standards for collaborative investigation features such as comments, side‑bar conversations, shared troubleshooting and AI‑initiated ticketing.
• Establish durable workflow architecture, proto‑first contracts, deterministic execution and versioning discipline for the system and related team workflows.
• Provide hands‑on support to other teams when triage latency, narrative accuracy or workflow durability issues arise, contributing code and design across alerting, graph‑context and analyst‑workbook components.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and scaling AI‑driven alert correlation and investigation platforms.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for complex reasoning, workflow durability and system integration challenges.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple engineering teams (alerting, graph/topology, analyst UX).

Required skills

• Large Language Model (LLM) reasoning and integration.
• Graph‑based context modeling and topology analysis.
• Alert correlation across diverse sources (security tooling, monitoring telemetry, syslog, OpenTelemetry, L2‑L4 network protocols).
• Design of deterministic, versioned workflow architectures.
• Experience with AI‑generated incident narratives and confidence scoring.
