Staff Software Engineer, Backend

About the role

Nango is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to own and evolve its backend platform. You will work remotely with a fast‑growing team, shaping APIs, services, and developer tools that power integrations for hundreds of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend systems, APIs, and services for the open‑source platform.
• Create developer‑focused interfaces such as SDKs, APIs, and runtime components.
• Collaborate directly with customers to resolve integration challenges.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of high‑traffic services.
• Contribute to product roadmap and strategic decisions with high ownership.
• Maintain and engage with the open‑source community and repository.

Required profile

• 5+ years of senior‑level or 10+ years of staff‑level backend engineering experience.
• Proven ability to scale high‑traffic, performance‑critical systems.
• Passion for developer tools and delivering excellent developer experience.
• Strong communication skills and proactive remote‑first work style.
• Product mindset with empathy for developers.
