Statistics Assistant

About the role

The Statistics Assistant will work within the Statistics Division of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). Reporting to the Chief of the Statistical Innovation and Dissemination Unit, the role supports data collection, processing, and dissemination for regional economic and social analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Compile, process, and manipulate data sets from multiple sources.
• Examine original statistical material for accuracy, clarity, and validity, making necessary adjustments.
• Update statistical series in established formats and enter new data from survey reports.
• Prepare charts, graphs, and other visual outputs for reporting and presentations.
• Develop interactive dashboards with tables, charts, and dynamic visualizations.
• Assist in creating graphical components for geospatial and statistical web platforms.
• Respond to internal and external queries related to specific programmes.
• Prepare data sets on request, maintain web pages, and support knowledge‑management activities.
• Contribute to visualisations, brochures, and other information materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Unit Chief.
