Steward – Hotel Kitchen

About the role

The Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen facilities and dinnerware in a hotel environment. This role requires a solid understanding of kitchen equipment, proper chemical usage, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and sort soiled dinnerware, flatware, and glassware.
• Load items onto the automatic dishwashing conveyor belt in appropriate racks.
• Operate dishwashing machines and remove cleaned items for stacking.
• Return items that are not satisfactorily cleaned for a second wash.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, clean walls, work tables, equipment, trash cans, and floor mats.
• Collect trash from kitchens, loading dock, and trash compactor areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of loading dock and trash compactor areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Ability to follow all department policies and procedures.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Required skills

• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment.
• Proper chemical usage for cleaning.
• Operation of automatic dishwashing machines.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
