Supply Chain Assistant

About the role

The Supply Chain Assistant will support NHS Lanarkshire’s procurement, logistics and supply‑chain activities, ensuring compliance with financial instructions and continuous supply to wards and departments. This fixed‑term position runs until March 2027 and offers a professional, patient‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase delegated goods and services in line with Board standing financial instructions.
• Provide product information, pricing and sourcing support to user departments.
• Prepare provisional pricing and sourcing details for indents and requests, using NHS Scotland frameworks and contracts.
• Expedite orders to meet delivery timescales and ensure correct paperwork for invoice processing.

Required profile

• Ability to use an integrated computer system and maintain system information.
• Highly IT‑literate with a good level of computer skills.
• Minimum of 4 Standard Grades or SVQ2 level (or equivalent).
• Alternatively, 2 years of customer‑focused service experience with strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence.
