Academic Advisor – Cardiac Sonography Faculty (9‑month)

About the role

This 9‑month faculty appointment (August – May) joins a mission‑driven academic team, combining clinical expertise in cardiac sonography with teaching responsibilities. The role offers built‑in summer breaks, allowing flexibility for clinical work or travel contracts while maintaining a stable academic position.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver assigned cardiac sonography courses using effective pedagogy and technology.
• Develop and maintain curriculum, course materials, and assessments aligned with program learning outcomes.
• Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and ensure a safe classroom environment.
• Utilise the Learning Management System (IvyLearn) for teaching, communication, and assessment.
• Provide academic coaching, monitor student performance, and intervene with tutoring or referrals as needed.
• Hold regular office hours and support student recruitment, retention, and program completion.
• Participate in professional development and scholarly activities related to cardiac imaging.

Required profile

• Credentialed cardiac sonographer (RDCS or RCS) with a passion for education.
• Ability to create engaging instructional content and assess student learning.
• Commitment to student success and collaborative campus community.
• Willingness to adhere to federal, state, and college safety standards.

Required skills

• Cardiac sonography (diagnostic imaging).
• Learning Management System usage – specifically IvyLearn.
• Implementation of emergency and safety procedures in classroom and lab settings.
