Bus and Transport Mechanic

About the role

The Bus and Transport Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing buses and related transport equipment in a physically demanding, on‑site environment. The role supports the organization’s green initiatives by ensuring vehicles operate efficiently and meet emission standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, electrical and fuel systems.
• Service and adjust brake, steering, suspension, alignment and hydraulic components.
• Repair and maintain truck‑trailer couplings, HVAC systems and emission control devices.
• Document work performed and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized workshop and manage personal tools and equipment.

Required profile

• College or CEGEP diploma (1‑2 years) in automotive or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2 to less than 3 years of hands‑on experience with bus or transport vehicle maintenance.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transportation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, manual dexterity and adherence to safety protocols.

• Automotive Service Technician – Fuel & Electrical Systems certification.
• Automotive Service Technician – Transmission certification.
• Automotive Service Technician – Steering, Suspension & Brakes certification.
• Truck and Transport Mechanic certification.
• HVAC certification.
• Diagnostics, alignment, brake, hydraulic, fuel‑emission and truck‑trailer repair expertise.
