About the role

Gatesource HR is recruiting a CEO responsible for overseeing all mining operations, including strategy, financial performance, production, expansion and operational excellence. The position carries full P&L accountability and leadership across the entire mining lifecycle, from exploration and development through production and optimisation.

Key responsibilities

Manage relationships with government entities and joint-venture partners
Ensure regulatory and environmental compliance
Drive operational efficiency and lead capital investment decisions
Promote strong HSE and ESG standards

Required profile

Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy or a related field; MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred
20+ years of mining or natural resources experience
Proven CEO or senior executive leadership experience with full P&L responsibility
Strong background in operational leadership, safety, ESG and stakeholder management
Experience leading large-scale mining operations in regulated, state-partnered environments
