Charge Nurse / Team Lead – Theatres (Band 6)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 Charge Nurse/Team Leader to join the Phase 3 Theatres at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. The role supports the Senior Charge Nurse in delivering safe, patient‑centred care across a wide range of surgical specialties, including orthopaedic trauma, robotic surgery and paediatrics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional and clinical support to the Senior Charge Nurse and the multidisciplinary theatre team.
• Plan and implement patient‑centred care, ensuring standards of care are met in all operating theatre activities.
• Work flexible shift patterns, including weekends, and cover multiple sites across Fife as required.
• Lead and motivate staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to NHS policies, including the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

Required profile

• First‑level registration with the NMC or HCPC.
• Degree‑level education or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of continuous professional development.
• Excellent communication, time‑management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
