Cloud Operations Database Engineer

About the role

Signant Health is seeking a Cloud Operations Database Engineer to join the Production Hosting department. In this role you will work closely with development, release, and application teams to ensure database infrastructure and related services are highly available, scalable, and cost‑effective across public cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL DBA tasks for company databases.
• Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement rapid work‑arounds.
• Manage and monitor backups and database server storage.
• Utilize existing tools and utilities to improve long‑term troubleshooting processes.
• Ensure stability and availability of application components running on public clouds.
• Participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation to support production environments.
• Control infrastructure costs by right‑sizing servers and services.
• Migrate on‑premises workloads to AWS or Azure.
• Respond to alerts of application instability, determine corrective actions.

Required profile

• Experience in an Agile, DevOps‑oriented software development environment.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows server operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented setting and provide backup support to colleagues.
• Experience setting up and configuring monitoring tools.
