Construction Automation Engineer – Iquique

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Construction Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives on the Ujina Growth Project in the Tarapacá Region of Chile. The role combines database management, programming, and 3D tools to streamline construction processes and improve data flow across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and manage the portfolio of construction automation applications, including TeamWorks, SETROUTE, Unifier, Conservation and Maintenance Module, and Measurement and Test Equipment.
• Implement automation tools according to the project automation plan, designing workflows, forms, and templates.
• Coordinate with design engineering, procurement, project controls and other departments to enable automated data transfer between applications.
• Ensure reports accurately reflect data and function as intended.
• Collect performance metrics, trackers and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Review output data and prepare reports following PFE and CM instructions.
• Provide training and technical support for all construction automation applications.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead construction automation efforts on complex projects.
• Experience with database management, programming, and 3D modeling tools.
• Strong coordination skills to work across engineering, procurement and project controls teams.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on data accuracy and process improvement.
