Construction Manager, Data Center Construction Project

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to lead the full lifecycle of a mission‑critical data centre development in Chile. The role is responsible for delivering a world‑class facility that meets global standards for safety, redundancy, quality and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day construction activities on‑site and off‑site, ensuring compliance with local building codes, safety standards and ESG policies.
• Manage general contractors and specialist subcontractors (MEP, structural, envelope, electrical systems) as well as design consultants.
• Review and approve technical documentation including IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, QA/QC plans and commissioning scripts.
• Develop and execute construction strategies, master schedules, logistics plans and cost baselines tailored to mission‑critical environments.
• Lead risk assessments, integrate safety‑by‑design and ensure all construction phases meet global EHS guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of large‑scale construction management experience.
• At least 8 years of experience as a construction manager on data‑center projects with budgets of USD 500 million or more.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Thorough understanding of data‑center infrastructure and associated technical requirements.
