Construction Manager – Data Center Project

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to lead the full lifecycle of a mission‑critical data centre development in Chile. You will be responsible for delivering a world‑class facility that meets global standards for safety, redundancy, quality and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day construction activities on‑site and off‑site, ensuring compliance with local building codes, safety standards and ESG policies.
• Manage general contractors and specialist subcontractors (MEP, structural, envelope, electrical systems) and coordinate design consultants.
• Review and approve technical documentation such as IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, QA/QC plans and commissioning scripts.
• Develop and execute construction strategies, master schedules, logistics plans and cost baselines for mission‑critical environments.
• Lead risk assessments, integrate safety‑by‑design and ensure all phases meet global EHS guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of large‑scale construction management experience, including at least 8 years managing data centre projects with budgets of $500M USD or more.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Experience with IFC drawings and shop drawings.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing method statements, QA/QC plans and commissioning scripts.
• In‑depth knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
