Construction Mechanical Completion Engineer (Punch List Engineer)

About the role

The Construction Mechanical Completion Engineer (Punch List Engineer) ensures the execution of all aspects of mechanical completion, both in the home office and at site. The role works closely with the mechanical completion coordinator and the engineering and commissioning team, and covers the preparation of ITP models, punch list tracking and the issuance of acceptance and completion certificates.

Key responsibilities

• In the home office: set up construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning master ITP models and cooperate with the completion coordinator to align deliverables with contractual requirements (TAG list, family TAG list, system and subsystem list, check sheets and ITP).
• Upload engineering data such as NPS, NPD and PD system definitions, ITP models and discipline tag extraction into MILEMATE, and generate models needed for site inspection reporting.
• Perform gap analysis between company and project ITP models, validate data in MILEMATE and help train project roles.
• At site: receive original punch lists from discipline supervisors or quality inspectors, record them in the logbook and enter them in MILEMATE.
• Track punch list progress, keep the report of closed items updated and coordinate close-outs with discipline supervisors and subcontractors.
• Provide punch list printouts, collect approval signatures and issue discipline acceptance certificates (DAC), subsystem/system ready-for-commissioning certificates, and the final field inspection certification dossier.
• Lead the construction team to hand over the DAC and the commissioning team to hand over the Mechanical Completion Certificate (MCC) to the client, and prepare daily, weekly and monthly mechanical completion reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in construction or the oil and gas industry.
• Relevant experience on three major EPC projects in the oil and gas or petrochemical sector.
