Corporate Procurement Consultant – Construction

About the role

The Corporate Procurement Consultant will join the Corporate Procurement Group at the IDB Group headquarters in Washington, D.C. This international staff position supports the Bank’s procurement and contracting services for construction, real estate, and infrastructure projects across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver corporate procurement services in line with IDB policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes for construction‑related goods and services, including RFP design, evaluation, negotiations, and contract administration.
• Advise internal clients on procurement strategies, timelines, risk assessments, and non‑price evaluation criteria.
• Coordinate vendor selection activities, such as product demonstrations, proof‑of‑concept tests, and due‑diligence workshops.
• Review and refine Terms of Reference, Statements of Work, and technical specifications.
• Support continuous improvement of procurement processes to enhance responsiveness and service continuity.
• Conduct market research on construction and infrastructure trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing.
• Assist in collecting and quality‑controlling procurement data for reporting and client advisory services.

Required profile

• Motivated, results‑driven, client‑oriented procurement professional.
• Solid experience in construction, real estate, or infrastructure procurement.
• Ability to manage complex procurement cycles autonomously while delivering high‑quality outputs on schedule.
