CSI Designer / Diseñador/a CS&I

About the role

The CSI Designer will carry out design work for control and instrumentation systems, coordinating with engineering teams to develop technical solutions for instrumentation, valves, control systems, auxiliary operation systems, communications, and support infrastructure such as control rooms, servers, data centers, and optical fiber networks.

Key responsibilities

• Organize, plan, budget and schedule design activities for control and instrumentation systems, overseeing designers and draftsmen.
• Select and apply engineering methods, techniques, procedures and standards for Control Systems and Instrumentation, making independent judgments on adaptations and modifications.
• Participate in design, development and modification of mechanical components using relevant engineering procedures, standards and design guides.
• Coordinate Control Systems engineering efforts with specialty groups, customers, suppliers, contractors and construction teams, answering technical queries.
• Prepare 2D floor plans and design drawings using CAD tools (MicroStation) and support creation of detailed 3D models and construction drawings.
• Review and verify calculations, design models, drawings and documents prepared by others, ensuring compliance with scope.
• Prepare design calculations, material estimates and requisitions for the discipline.

Required profile

• Degree in Electronic or Electrical Execution Engineering, Industrial Automation and Control Engineering, or Electrical/Electronics Technician with specialization in Control Systems/Instrumentation.
• 5‑8 years (or 9‑12 years) of relevant experience in multi‑disciplinary engineering projects.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Hexagon's Smart Instrumentation tool.
• Proficiency with 2D CAD tools such as Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools like Intergraph Smart 3D.
• Familiarity with Bentley ProjectWise for collaborative work management.
• Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Excel and Visio.
• Intermediate English level (B1) desirable.
• BIM knowledge desirable.
