Design Supervisor

About the role

Fluor is seeking a Design Supervisor to lead and oversee design activities across multiple projects. The role combines technical expertise with administrative oversight to ensure accurate, cost‑effective solutions throughout all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and ensure accuracy in project execution.
• Act as Design Lead on assigned projects or handle moderate‑to‑complex design tasks.
• Supervise and mentor project designers.
• Develop cost‑effective total project solutions, estimates, schedules, and staffing plans.
• Track material quantities, analyze forecasts, and prepare progress reports.
• Develop and review specifications and design criteria.
• Participate in equipment procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
• Analyze problems and recommend independent solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Accredited two‑year degree (or equivalent) with 20 years of relevant experience, or 22 years of experience without a degree.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with management, clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Ability to apply local, state/province, and federal statutes and guidelines.
• Detail‑oriented, time‑conscious, and knowledgeable about commercial material availability and costs.
• Practical field experience and intermediate computer proficiency.
