Designer II – 3D Layout & CAD

About the role

Fluor is seeking a Designer II to create 3D layouts and 2D CAD drawings for moderate‑scope projects, supporting the Design Area Lead. The role contributes to Fluor’s competitiveness by delivering high‑quality technical designs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D layouts of moderate scope to support design leads.
• Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of moderate complexity.
• Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation for compliance and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform bulk material take‑off analysis and tabulations.
• Adhere to industry codes, standards, and departmental procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Accredited two‑year degree in a technical field or equivalent education and six years of related experience.
• Effective communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials.
• Practical field experience and ability to apply relevant statutes and guidelines.
• Intermediate proficiency with word processing, email, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
