About the role

The Director of Proposals for South America will partner with the VP of Proposals to drive the regional proposals strategy, elevate team capability and ensure high‑quality, efficient delivery of complex bids. This senior leader will coach a cross‑functional team, collaborate with business development and technical leaders, and champion Ausenco’s values across the region.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with the VP, Proposals to execute the regional proposals strategy, improving team capability, proposal quality, resource utilization and delivery efficiency.
  • Lead, coach and develop the South America Proposals team, fostering collaboration, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage proposal priorities, resources and workload across the region, ensuring compliance with Ausenco’s processes, governance and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Operations and Technical leaders to support capture planning, win strategies and strategic pursuits.
  • Lead high‑value, complex proposals, coordinating across regions, business lines and joint ventures.
  • Translate technical solutions into clear, client‑focused value propositions.
  • Conduct client, competitor and market research to strengthen pursuit strategies and competitive positioning.
  • Maintain and enhance proposal resources, templates, project descriptions, résumés and supporting materials.
  • Monitor proposal performance, including pipeline health, resource capacity, quality, win rates and team utilization.

Required profile

  • 10+ years of experience in proposal management, pursuit management, business development support or project delivery within engineering, EPCM, mining, energy, infrastructure or consulting.
  • Proven experience leading high‑performing teams and managing complex proposals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering or a related field; MBA or equivalent is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Solid business acumen in capture planning, win‑strategy development and client‑focused positioning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration, relationship‑building and organizational abilities across cultures and geographies.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement.
