Engineering Manager Software Development

About the role

Ria Money Transfer is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead product squads that deliver scalable, reliable software solutions for its global money‑transfer platform. You will balance people development with technical oversight, ensuring quality is built into every feature.

Key responsibilities

• Own quarterly planning, estimation, and execution for your squads, pushing back on scope when needed and reporting status and metrics to product.
• Mentor engineers through 1‑on‑1s, performance reviews, compensation discussions, and career growth initiatives.
• Challenge estimates and architectural trade‑offs, participate in design reviews, and embed QA and automation throughout development.
• Partner with product owners on scope, north‑star metrics, and early alignment of dependencies across squads.
• Source, interview, and onboard engineering and QA talent as the squad model expands.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years managing engineering teams and delivering outcomes.
• Strong technical background in backend, web, or mobile development at scale.
• Proven track record of end‑to‑end agile delivery, including planning, estimation, sprint execution, and stakeholder reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to grow and retain engineers through mentorship and career development.
• Experience managing cross‑team dependencies in a distributed organization.
• Metrics‑driven mindset with a focus on conversion, retention, uptime, and error rates.
