Environmental Health & Safety Specialist – Solar

About the role

Huawei Technologies seeks an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support its solar and renewable‑energy projects in Santiago. You will ensure that all activities comply with the company’s safety strategy, local regulations, and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement Huawei’s health and safety strategy across solar projects and conduct EHS planning and customer communication.
• Perform EHS audits, safety controls, and incident‑reduction initiatives for all business units.
• Maintain compliance with BS OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and local legal requirements, including yearly surveillance audits.
• Deliver health‑and‑safety training such as IOSH and H&S awareness programs.
• Inspect construction sites, review phase plans, risk assessments, method statements and lifting plans, and attend safety meetings.
• Investigate incidents, produce detailed reports, and support health‑and‑safety representatives.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience as an EHS engineer, preferably on PV, BESS or other energy projects.
• Proven experience delivering safety training and managing OHS management systems.
• Strong understanding of construction, mechanical and electrical aspects of solar parks.
• Excellent English communication skills and willingness to travel as needed.
