Expeditor

About the role

The Expeditor (also referred to as the Activator) is an advanced individual contributor within Bechtel’s expediting discipline. The role ensures that suppliers meet their contractual commitments by actively monitoring manufacturing, submittals, and deliveries, and by acting as the primary liaison between suppliers, the project team, and internal functions.

Key responsibilities

• Operate autonomously using Bechtel’s expediting procedures, guides, and corporate tools.
• Manage medium‑to‑high complexity supply orders and packages that directly impact the project schedule.
• Execute post‑award activation activities, tracking manufacturing, inspection, submittals, and dispatch in line with approved orders.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain timely engineering data and monitor material procurement, production progress, and shipment.
• Develop internal management procedures when necessary and prepare supplier evaluations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in expediting or supply‑chain functions within construction or mining projects.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions within established guidelines.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills to coordinate between multiple stakeholders.
• Capacity to handle medium‑to‑high complexity orders and influence project timelines.
