Field Service Engineer – Level 2

About the role

FLANDERS is seeking a Level 2 Field Service Engineer to provide specialized technical support for autonomous drilling systems used in the mining industry. Based in Calama, you will work on‑site to ensure the reliable operation of high‑performance electric rotary drills and associated autonomy components.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and diagnose ARDVARC autonomous drilling system components in the field.
• Assist drill control room operators with system‑related issues and coordinate autonomy actions with maintenance and operations teams.
• Report technical issues to senior engineers or the factory, prepare detailed service reports, and conduct root‑cause analyses of failures.
• Maintain clear communication on system performance and ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols.
• Work rotating mining shifts (7 × 7 or 4 × 3).

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or related field, with certification in industrial automation or electronics.
• Minimum five years of experience with electric drills such as Komatsu 320XPC, Caterpillar MD6640 or Epiroc PV271/PV351.
• Strong knowledge of drill operations, mechanical and hydraulic systems, and daily drill functionality.
• Valid driver’s license (AII‑B preferred) and high adaptability to change.
