Financial Accounting Lead – LATAM

About the role

GeologicAI is seeking a Financial Accounting Lead for its LATAM operations. The role is responsible for delivering accurate financial information under IFRS, managing month‑end and year‑end close processes, and supporting the broader finance function in a fast‑growing technology start‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely monthly management reports and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end close activities, overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, fixed assets, and reconciliations.
• Research, interpret, and apply IFRS standards to complex transactions such as revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments, business combinations, stock‑based compensation, and foreign currency.
• Document technical accounting conclusions through memos and position papers.
• Identify and implement process improvements, controls, and automation initiatives within the finance function.
• Collaborate with FP&A, treasury, tax, and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting and support corporate finance initiatives.
• Assist with ERP implementation and support treasury payment runs and capital‑spend justifications.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting expertise with solid judgment.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience preparing financial statements and managing close processes under IFRS.
• Proven track record of handling complex accounting matters and supporting audit processes.
