About the role
MissionHires is looking for a Head of Business Development for the Transportation sector to lead the full commercial lifecycle, from prospecting to closing and managing strategic partnerships. You will focus on bus operators, optimise route performance, and represent the company at key industry events.
Key responsibilities
- Own the end‑to‑end sales cycle, from lead generation to contract signing and ongoing account management.
- Develop and nurture relationships with transportation operators, acting as the primary MissionHires ambassador.
- Monitor commercial performance of routes and partners, driving profitability through data‑based optimisation.
- Recruit, coach, and lead a high‑performing business development and account management team.
- Implement sales processes, tools, KPIs and best practices across the team.
- Collaborate with Network Planning, Operations, Finance, Marketing and other internal functions.
- Represent MissionHires at industry conferences, trade shows and professional associations.
- Negotiate and secure strategic agreements with industry suppliers to improve terms for operators.
Required profile
- 5+ years leading business development in the transportation sector, preferably with bus operators, or at a major tech firm serving transportation.
- Proven hunter mindset with a track record of sourcing, developing and closing new business.
- Experience designing and executing commercial and go‑to‑market strategies.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills across planning, operations, finance and marketing.
- Executive presence and ability to represent the company publicly.
- Bachelor’s degree and fluency in English.

- Professional proficiency in English.
