Health & Safety Senior Specialist

About the role

As a Health & Safety Senior Specialist you will lead the employee health, safety and risk‑prevention programme for Volvo Trucks Chile. Based in Santiago, you will support the dealership network and the Distribution Center, ensuring compliance with Chilean legislation and Volvo Group standards.

Key responsibilities

• Identify workplace hazards and drive preventive and corrective actions.
• Develop, implement and maintain health‑and‑safety policies, procedures and improvement programmes.
• Monitor and analyse injury, illness and incident data, producing regular reports.
• Lead accident and incident investigations, determine root causes and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
• Provide training and guidance on safety protocols, risk prevention and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments to ensure compliance with Volvo Group standards, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and Chilean law.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, manage corrective actions and support certification processes.
• Promote a strong safety culture through communication, coaching and collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Prevention Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in occupational health and safety or risk prevention, preferably in a transport or industrial environment.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external authorities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Experience conducting audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Strong analytical skills for data monitoring and reporting.
