Internal Control Officer

About the role

Sandvik Mining is seeking an Internal Control Officer to strengthen its internal control environment. The role supports continuous improvement initiatives and conducts independent reviews across various entities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to the Group Internal Control Lead/Manager and execute assigned projects.
• Advise business areas on designing processes that embed efficient automated controls.
• Collaborate with Group representatives to document and design key controls, and work with local management on remediation plans.
• Support IT General Controls (ITGC) initiatives alongside Group IT and business leaders.
• Coordinate with Group functions and internal control representatives to enhance the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) and conduct data quality reviews.
• Perform independent testing across entities, including planning, execution, analysis, and follow‑up of end‑to‑end processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, internal control, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in internal control, internal or external auditing, risk management, or compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Availability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Valid Class B driver’s license.
• Residence in Chile or Mexico.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
