IP Network Engineer – Fixed Access Networks

About the role

CVTelecom is seeking an experienced IP Network Engineer to join its Fixed Access Networks team in Santiago, Cape Verde. The role focuses on the planning, design and development of IP, backbone, aggregation and fixed‑access infrastructures, supporting the company’s investment and expansion programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and dimension IP, backbone, aggregation and fixed‑access networks.
• Perform network optimisation, capacity planning and technical evolution studies.
• Engineer and develop IP/MPLS networks and fixed‑broadband infrastructure.
• Conduct technical and economic feasibility studies for new network projects.
• Lead the planning and implementation of network investment projects.
• Evaluate and validate network solutions, equipment and third‑party deliveries.

Required profile

• Analytical, proactive and results‑oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Hands‑on experience in large‑scale IP networking environments.

Required skills

• Strong hands‑on knowledge of IP networking, especially IP/MPLS, BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with WAN/LAN and ISP network architectures.
• Familiarity with xGPON/XGS‑PON technologies.
• Proficiency in network planning tools and GIS.
• Understanding of Open Access Networks.
• Experience using AI tools for engineering and productivity is a plus.
