LAC Storage Fulfilment Engineer

About the role

The LAC Storage Fulfilment Engineer will lead the commissioning and energisation of medium‑ and high‑voltage electrical systems for battery energy storage projects across Latin America. Working closely with OEM partners, grid operators and internal safety teams, the engineer ensures that all equipment is installed, tested and handed over safely and in compliance with Trina Storage standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead step‑by‑step energisation sequences for MV/HV feeders, MV skids, transformers, PCS and battery systems.
• Coordinate integration and interoperability verification between PCS, BMS and MV transformers, including protection coordination and communication handshakes.
• Make Hold/Go decisions during commissioning milestones and document deviations with technical justification.
• Perform pre‑commissioning checks such as insulation resistance, continuity, protection relay functional tests, transformer turns ratio and PCS self‑tests.
• Act as primary technical counterpart to OEM commissioning engineers (NR Electric, Kehua, Huawei, SMA, etc.) during site visits, FAT and SAT.
• Collaborate with the SCADA Engineer to ensure electrical systems are ready for telemetry integration.
• Maintain commissioning documentation, ITPs, punch lists, NCRs and as‑built records.
• Support warranty engineering with root‑cause analysis and technical evidence.
• Obtain and maintain OEM certifications and lead knowledge‑transfer activities for the LAC region.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commissioning of medium‑ and high‑voltage electrical systems for battery storage or similar projects.
• Strong understanding of protection coordination, permissive logic and grid interfacing.
• Ability to work autonomously on site, make critical decisions and produce detailed technical reports.
• Familiarity with safety and EHS policies in industrial environments.
