Lecturer in Sport (0.6 FTE, part‑time)

About the role

Boston College is seeking a part‑time Lecturer in Sport to join its Sports Department at the Peter Paine Sports Centre. The role involves delivering a range of sport qualifications to post‑16 learners and supporting their progression into further education or sport‑related careers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Level 1‑6 sport qualifications to post‑16 learners.
• Teach BTEC, OCR and NCFE sport courses.
• Potentially deliver Active IQ qualifications where relevant.
• Contribute to the Uniformed Public Services curriculum when appropriate.
• Support students in planning pathways to university, further education or sport careers.

Required profile

• Minimum degree in Sport or a related discipline, or extensive experience in the sport/fitness sector.
• Teaching qualification preferred; the college will fund training for candidates without one.
• Desirable: Master’s degree, gym instructor certification, sports massage qualification.
• Strong communication, time‑management and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Level 1‑6 sport curricula and BTEC/OCR/NCFE frameworks.
• Ability to design and deliver practical sport sessions.
