Logistics Technician (Data Center Operations)

About the role

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team is seeking a Logistics Technician to support data‑center inventory and asset management. The role includes cycle audits, handling inbound and outbound deliveries, coordinating security escorts, and processing warranty claims and equipment returns.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cycle audits of inventory and assets.
• Execute incoming and outgoing deliveries, documenting all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Coordinate security escorts for third‑party vendors accessing the data center.
• Initiate warranty claims and process returns for failed equipment.
• Support inventory and asset management (IAM) tasks across multiple data‑center teams.
• Communicate with Site Services, Facility Management, Security, Vendors, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with company and industry standards.
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external customers.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service focus and attention to detail.
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to travel 0‑25% of the time to support other metros.
• Effective communication across diverse data‑center teams and external vendors.
• Capability to manage inventory and asset tasks accurately and efficiently.
