Mechanical Engineer – Mining Projects

About the role
Bechtel is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage all information related to P&IDs and mechanical equipment packages for a copper concentrator plant in Santiago. The role involves coordinating with internal teams, clients, and vendors to define scope, specifications, and cost estimates for mechanical aspects of the project.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer P&IDs and mechanical packages, ensuring document control and schedule adherence.
- Design and develop mechanical equipment and systems for mining projects, including pumps, water and slurry distribution networks, and grinding circuits.
- Prepare conceptual studies, calculation reports, designs, technical reports, and proposals.
- Manage material requisitions, specifications, data sheets, and other procurement documents.
- Lead vendor evaluations and technical bid assessments for mechanical equipment purchases.
Required profile
- Proven experience with process equipment in a copper concentrator plant.
- Strong ability to lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components.
- Excellent coordination skills with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
