Mechanical Engineer – Mining Projects

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage all information related to P&IDs and mechanical equipment packages for a copper concentrator plant in Santiago. The role involves coordinating with internal teams, clients, and vendors to define scope, specifications, and cost estimates for mechanical aspects of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer P&IDs and mechanical packages, ensuring document control and schedule adherence.
• Design and develop mechanical equipment and systems for mining projects, including pumps, water and slurry distribution networks, and grinding circuits.
• Prepare conceptual studies, calculation reports, designs, technical reports, and proposals.
• Manage material requisitions, specifications, data sheets, and other procurement documents.
• Lead vendor evaluations and technical bid assessments for mechanical equipment purchases.

Required profile

• Proven experience with process equipment in a copper concentrator plant.
• Strong ability to lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components.
• Excellent coordination skills with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
