Mechanical / HVAC BIM Designer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical / HVAC BIM Designer to support the design and coordination of mechanical systems for commercial and multi‑unit residential construction projects. You will use Revit to model HVAC systems, coordinate layouts with other building trades, identify clashes, and incorporate revisions throughout the project.

Key responsibilities

• Model HVAC ductwork, equipment, and related mechanical components in Revit.
• Read and interpret mechanical, architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Model and coordinate diffusers, grilles, and other components with Reflected Ceiling Plans (RCPs).
• Coordinate HVAC layouts with plumbing, fire protection, structural, electrical, and architectural systems.
• Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks.
• Coordinate openings and sleeves with architectural and structural elements.
• Incorporate design changes, engineering comments, and updated backgrounds into models.
• Assist with elevation tags, RCP updates, and other annotation/detailing tasks.
• Review work for accuracy and identify potential coordination issues before submission.
• Work closely with Project Managers and other trades to resolve conflicts.

Required profile

• Previous mechanical/HVAC BIM, drafting, or design experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit MEP.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and construction plans.
• Understanding of HVAC ductwork, equipment, and air distribution.
• Experience coordinating mechanical systems with other building trades.
• Familiarity with mechanical codes and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a project team.
• Good written and spoken English.
