Medical Scientific Liaison – Aesthetics

About the role

The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) – Aesthetics will serve as a scientific bridge between Abbott and key opinion leaders in the aesthetic medicine field. Based in our Commercial Office in Providencia, Santiago, the MSL will ensure that healthcare professionals receive accurate, up‑to‑date scientific information about Abbott’s aesthetic products and related therapeutic areas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term medical and scientific support plans aligned with the unmet needs of key opinion leaders and the competitive landscape.
• Disseminate clinical and scientific data, providing technical support to healthcare professionals (HCPs) on Abbott’s products and therapeutic areas.
• Identify and nurture relationships with HCPs and scientific opinion leaders to promote product awareness and advocacy.
• Support Continuing Medical Education (CME) events, organizing medical education activities and fostering collaborations with doctors and academic centers.
• Facilitate research initiatives and publications, ensuring a strong scientific presence in key academic institutions.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Market Access, Sales, and other in‑field teams while maintaining functional independence.
• Capture insights from field visits and share them with internal teams to inform strategy.
• Participate in scientific congresses and societies, summarizing key messages for internal use.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a life‑science discipline (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in medical affairs, scientific liaison, or related roles within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
• Strong understanding of aesthetic medicine and related therapeutic areas.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
