Openroad Designer / Diseñador/a de Openroad

About the role

Bechtel is seeking an Openroad Designer to support mining and metals projects in Santiago. The role combines field investigations, client interviews, and technical design to deliver civil and structural solutions for road and infrastructure works.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations and client interviews to define scope and cost estimates for civil/structural components.
• Lead design, development, modification, and constructability reviews of earthwork, drainage, road, foundation, and steel detailing.
• Produce drawings and documentation that meet project specifications and standards.
• Coordinate with civil/structural engineers, scientists, designers, and drafters on a daily basis.
• Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to senior management.
• Prepare or oversee civil/structural design estimates and work plans.

Required profile

• Experience in civil or structural design for medium‑size projects.
• Ability to work both independently and within a small design team.
• Strong analytical skills to translate field data into design solutions.
• Willingness to attend the office at least three days per week under a hybrid work model.
