About the role

Join Catholic Family and Community Services as a State‑Mandated Pre‑School Teacher in Paterson, NJ. You will deliver high‑quality early childhood education to a diverse group of children, supporting their social, emotional, and academic growth within a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement daily instructional activities using the Creative Curriculum framework.
• Document each child’s development across social/emotional, physical, language/literacy, math, and cognitive domains.
• Maintain a safe, supportive classroom and supervise children at all times.
• Adhere to licensing requirements, ECERS and NAEYC standards, and district policies.
• Collaborate with families, bilingual staff, and community resource providers to support each child’s needs.

Required profile

• Valid Teacher of Preschool through Grade 3 certificate (CE, CEAS, or equivalent).
• Strong oral and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work with small adult‑to‑child ratios (2 adults per up to 15 children).
• Positive, energetic attitude and willingness to adapt to a dynamic workplace.

Required skills

• Familiarity with ECERS, NAEYC, and Creative Curriculum guidelines (preferred).
• Bilingual ability in Spanish and/or Arabic (preferred).
• First aid/CPR certification (a plus).
