Product Support Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Product Support Engineer to provide technical services and product support for BHP Escondida’s Gen2 hardware and software, focusing on the Digital Mine portfolio including Collision Awareness System (CAS) and Drill Guidance System (DGS). The role is based in Santiago, Chile, with a hybrid schedule between Wabtec and BHP offices and regular site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor CAS performance, alarms, and system status continuously.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues on hardware/software platforms.
• Perform root cause analysis and generate actionable reports.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to prioritize customer needs.
• Develop and maintain documentation, reporting, and data analysis for operational insights.
• Provide on‑site support at BHP Escondida and weekly visits to BHP offices.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of CAS monitoring, diagnostics, and reporting.
• Experience with data analysis and translating data into operational insights.
• Proficiency in Linux administration, Microsoft Server, IIS, and SQL Server.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with relevant policies.
• Degree in IT, software or computer engineering or equivalent experience (preferred).
