About the role
We are seeking a passionate Music Education Teacher to join our elementary school team. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging music lessons that foster creativity and appreciation for music among young learners.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver age‑appropriate music lessons in line with the school curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to address different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess, record, and report student progress regularly, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Develop and maintain classroom routines that promote respect, responsibility, and positive behaviour.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and school leadership to enhance the educational experience.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, parent‑teacher conferences, and school events.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to support student learning and well‑being.
- Uphold school policies and maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and professionalism.
- Identify and respond to individual needs, including those of students with special educational needs.
- Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance learning and engagement.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of child development and age‑appropriate teaching methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Good organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Ability to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods.
- Collaborative mindset and teamwork orientation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or licensure for the relevant jurisdiction.
- Previous experience teaching elementary‑aged children (1–3 years or more).
- Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds and learning abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant curriculum and educational standards.
- Experience in lesson planning, assessment, and classroom management.
- Participation in ongoing professional development.
