About the role
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) seeks a consultant to provide programmatic and substantive support for its Production, Productivity and Management Division. The role focuses on advancing science, technology, innovation, technology extension and entrepreneurship initiatives under the Korea‑ECLAC cooperation programme for 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in organizing expert group meetings, policy dialogues, seminars, regional workshops and related events.
- Provide substantive support to intergovernmental processes, including the ECLAC Conference on Science, Innovation and ICT, by preparing background documents, reports and meeting summaries.
- Contribute to analytical work on productive development, innovation policies and technology‑extension services in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Support technical cooperation activities through diagnostic assessments, policy recommendations and analytical inputs.
- Conduct research, compile information and help prepare publications and knowledge products on science, technology and innovation policies.
- Participate in international, regional or national meetings related to productive development and technological transformation.
- Perform administrative tasks necessary for the delivery of services and attend staff meetings.
Required profile
- University degree in economics, engineering, public policy or a related discipline; advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) is desirable.
- Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in economic research, policy formulation or development programmes.
- Prior experience working in Latin American and Caribbean contexts is preferred.
