Project Development Associate

About the role

The Project Development Associate will lead the identification, evaluation, and development of utility‑scale energy storage projects across South America. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive projects from concept through to Ready‑to‑Build (RtB) and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse electricity market structures, pricing mechanisms, ancillary service demands and grid service trends in South America.
• Identify, screen and evaluate greenfield, brownfield and co‑location energy storage opportunities in pre‑RtB and RtB stages.
• Manage development workflows including site selection, land acquisition, grid access applications, environmental and planning permits, and M&A activities.
• Lead land acquisition negotiations and coordinate with external land agents.
• Represent the company with local councils, government officials, consultants and landowners.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, legal and operations to minimise project risks and maximise value.
• Oversee grid connection processes, permitting, public hearings and stakeholder relationships.
• Create and manage project budgets and schedules, acting as internal project lead.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in energy/power sectors covering project development, technical, M&A and engineering management.
• Proven track record in South America energy storage project development, M&A or asset rotation.
• Master’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages a plus.
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout South America.
